Older people living in our service area who receive a Centrelink pension may receive assistance with light gardening chores such as weeding, raking, light pruning and planting. Lawn mowing is not part of the service.
A volunteer will work in your garden for a couple of hours on a regular basis. Volunteers are allocated according to availability.
There is a $15 fee for each visit unless support for gardening is covered by a Home Care Package.
The costs of other expenses, like taking green waste to the rubbish tip or buying a hose for the client, are to be met by the client.
For clients on a Home Care Package gardening can be worked into your service plan. Other clients need to contact the Community Centre to discuss their needs. Contact us to arrange gardening support.
